Job summary

The Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a Dig Superintendent to lead field crews performing excavation and utility repair work, including sewer and stormwater point repairs and manhole work. You will ensure safety, plan daily activities, supervise crew performance, and maintain quality and equipment readiness.

Ideal candidates have demonstrated experience in underground utilities, strong leadership skills, and the ability to read plans and specifications. Travel and OT may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground utility construction, excavation and pipe repair.
• Supervisory experience as foreman or superintendent.
• Ability to read plans, specs and elevations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily field activities with crews and equipment.
• Lead excavation, pipe point repairs and backfill.
• Supervise manhole adjustments and related restoration.
• Direct site access preparation and debris handling.
• Coordinate labor, materials and subcontractors with the project manager.
• Train crew members and enforce safety and quality standards.
• Ensure equipment is inspected and maintained.
