Job summary

Edgewood Properties, Inc. seeks an Excavation Superintendent to lead the Excavation Department from our South Plainfield, NJ office.

You will manage day-to-day site improvements across multiple projects, review plans and schedules, and oversee Foremen, Operators and Laborers to meet budgets and timelines. The ideal candidate has extensive earthwork and utility experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate materials, equipment and subcontractors while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of site improvements including earthwork, sewer, drainage, water, concrete, paving and utility installation.
• Experience in Multi-Family, Commercial/Industrial Construction is required.
• Ability to read and understand project documents, drawings, specs, contracts, RFIs, submittals and survey stakes.
• Thorough understanding of cost codes, budgets and scheduling logic.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with computers and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site improvements for multiple projects.
• Review plans, details, specifications and project budgets.
• Direct Foremen, Operators and Laborers; adjust manpower to meet needs.
• Coordinate material deliveries and track production against budget.
• Ensure safety, conduct toolbox talks, coordinate with inspectors and authorities.
• Recruit and hire necessary manpower; attend required meetings.
