Job summary

VenuWorks in Evansville, IN, is seeking an Event Manager to oversee administration and planning of facility events. The role includes front and back of house services, event production, custodial services, security and life safety, emergency preparedness, and inventory control.

The position requires long irregular hours and supervision of custodial and events staff, with responsibility for budgeting and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
• Three to five years of successful experience in public assembly facilities operation, including front and back of house, life safety & security, event production, budget management and personnel management, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in a computer network environment utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and CAD programs

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, produce, and execute events in a professional manner.
• Oversee personnel including setup and event staffing and contract labor.
• Plan and coordinate facility set-ups for family shows, concerts, sports and trade shows, conferences and banquets.
• Train, plan, schedule, supervise, discipline and assign staff.
• Assist in developing and administering the annual budget.
