Job summary

Amplify Bloomington is seeking an Event Coordinator to own the in-person experience at The Mill in Bloomington. You will lead signature and recurring events and run the event rental business from inquiry to wrap-up, shaping how founders, partners, and residents see Amplify and the city.

You’ll coordinate three core areas: event experience, Amplify events, and The Mill rentals, managing budgets, timelines, vendors, and staff while building strong partner relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in event planning, venue management, or hospitality, owning events from concept to close.
• Direct experience selling event space or services: proposals, contracts, pricing, and closing.
• Track record managing event budgets, vendors, and on-site teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients, partners, sponsors, and volunteers.
• Organized under pressure with sound judgment when plans change on the day.
• Comfortable with booking and CRM tools, registration platforms, and shared project tools.
• Available for evening and weekend events and able to lift up to 30 lbs for setup.
• Paid, contract, and substantial volunteer or leadership experience counts.

Responsibilities

• Define event experience strategy and set standards for hospitality, programming, accessibility, and brand presence across every Amplify Bloomington event.
• Develop the annual event calendar, balancing mission programming with earned-revenue rentals in shared spaces.
• Set goals, report results, and create playbooks, run-of-show templates, vendor lists, and post-event debriefs.
• Own planning and delivery of Amplify's events: AMP Bloomington, AMP Monthly, Bloomington Breakfast Club, demo days, partner convenings.
• Manage budgets, venues, vendors, catering, AV, staffing, and volunteers.
• Coordinate with speakers and content, and with marketing on promotion, registration, and storytelling.
• Lead day-of operations, secure sponsors, and perform a budget reconciliation and debrief.
