Job summary

Tiello is seeking a Chief Estimator / Lead Estimator for structural steel and miscellaneous metals in Port St. Lucie, FL. This role supervises estimating and preconstruction, guiding bid strategy and ensuring accurate takeoffs and profitable projects.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in estimating for structural steel/misc metals, strong pricing knowledge, and the ability to coordinate across fabrication, field ops, and leadership. Relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years estimating experience in structural steel fabrication, erection, and/or miscellaneous metals.
• Senior Estimator / Lead Estimator experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of bid documents, cost control, and project scoping.
• Experience with Tekla PowerFab, FabTrol, or Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating process for structural steel fabrication, erection, and miscellaneous metals projects.
• Review bid invitations, drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope.
• Prepare detailed takeoffs, labor estimates, equipment costs, and project budgets.
• Develop accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Coordinate with fabrication and field operations to ensure estimates reflect capabilities.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities during bidding.
• Collaborate with general contractors, fabricators, erectors, and project management teams.
