Job summary

Pike Industries, Inc. in Maine is seeking a Lead Mechanic - Equipment to travel to field sites and support shop operations.

The role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining heavy equipment including dump trucks, pavers, reclaim and milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers and rollers. You will plan work procedures with the Equipment Manager, ensure safety practices, and coordinate with superintendents and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Travel in the field to jobsites and work in the shop as needed (CDL a plus).
• Plan work procedures and scheduling with the Equipment Manager, and coordinate parts/PM service.
• Troubleshoot and maintain heavy equipment including dump trucks, pavers, reclaim and milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers and rollers.
• Examine equipment and discuss with superintendent/operator/project manager the nature of damage or malfunction.
• Ensure safety practices are followed; conduct toolbox talks and training.
• Collaborate with equipment manufacturers to stay current with new technology.
