Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Good driving record and experience driving horses.
• Interest in history and public programming/engagement.
• Strong knowledge in equine breeding with AI focus.
• Experience working with horses in professional setting.
• Strong horse care, feeding, grooming, and health monitoring.
• Ability to handle large horses safely and confidently.
• Willingness to perform physical labor in varying conditions.
• Team-oriented with good communication and attitude.
• Virginia Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Rare Breeds equine program and expand outreach and partnerships.
• Oversee the equine breeding program to promote healthy, sustainable standards.
• Monitor breeding stock health, schedule veterinary visits, and maintain records.
• Administer basic first aid and other treatments as directed.
• Build and maintain community, local, national, and international partnerships.
• Grow equine programming and community engagement initiatives.
• Coordinate volunteer and internship programs including training and resources.
• Maintain organized records for training, medical care, and programming.
• Follow safety protocols related to horse handling and carriage operations.
