Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Hands-on experience working with horses in stable, farm, or equine facility setting.
  • Strong knowledge of equine handling, nutrition, and health care practices.
  • Experience leading and training a team of 15–20 staff within an equine operation.
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee daily horse care protocols and turnout for 25–35 horses.
  • Oversee grooming, tacking, and harnessing for carriage operations with safety and historical accuracy.
  • Coordinate veterinary and farrier services and maintain health records.
  • Lead training programs for working horses and staff; engage guests through equine programs.
  • Create and refine SOPs for daily operations and public-facing activities.
