Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Electrical Power Subsystem Architect to join the Blue National Security team in Reston, VA. You will lead EPS design and assessment for LEO satellites, defining requirements, architecture trades, and performance analysis across mission phases.

The role requires senior expertise in solar/battery systems, power budgets, and novel energy storage technologies, with collaboration across teams and mentoring responsibilities. TS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in spacecraft EPS design, development, or testing.
• Experience leading EPS design efforts with requirements ownership and architecture trades.
• Experience with power system modeling, simulation, and performance analysis tools.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret (TS) clearance at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical contributor and SME for LEO satellite EPS design and integration.
• Lead EPS architecture trades, requirements, and system-level performance analysis.
• Develop and maintain power budgets, models, and simulations for orbital conditions.
• Drive solar array, battery system, and novel power generation technologies.
• Collaborate with systems, thermal, structures, avionics, and software teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and brief results to program managers and leadership.
