Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Electrical Power Subsystem Architect to lead power subsystem design for LEO satellites and related space technologies. You will help shape on-orbit power strategies across multiple mission phases, from solar arrays to novel energy storage solutions, while interfacing with systems, thermal, avionics, and software teams.

The role requires a TS clearance, extensive EPS experience, and the ability to mentor engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
10+ years of hands-on spacecraft power design, development, or testing.
Experience leading EPS design efforts and architecture trades.
Experience with power system modeling, simulation, and performance analysis.
Familiarity with spacecraft engineering processes: requirements, verification, validation.
Strong written and verbal communication for government customers.
Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at hire.

Responsibilities

Lead EPS design efforts and architecture trades across mission phases.
Develop and maintain power budgets, models, and simulations for orbital conditions.
Drive solar array and battery system design and integration.
Collaborate with systems, thermal, structures, avionics, and software teams.
Author and review specifications, ICDs, and test procedures.
Support integration tests and root-cause analysis.
Mentor junior engineers and brief results to management and customers.
