Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Electrical Power Subsystem Architect to lead EPS design for LEO satellite programs and new space technologies. You will shape power architecture, budgets, and interfaces, coordinating with systems, thermal, avionics and software teams while advancing novel energy storage options.

The role requires 10+ years in EPS, proficiency with modeling tools, and an active TS clearance. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in spacecraft or satellite EPS design, development, and/or testing.
• Experience leading EPS design efforts and architecture trades.
• Experience with power system modeling and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with spacecraft-level systems engineering processes.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical contributor and SME for EPS design, development and integration.
• Lead or co-lead EPS architecture trades and system-level performance analysis.
• Develop and maintain power budgets, models and simulations across orbital conditions.
• Drive design and integration of solar arrays, batteries and energy storage tech.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure EPS compatibility and interfaces.
• Champion R&D efforts to mature novel power generation and storage technologies.
• Author and review specifications, ICDs, test procedures and reports.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and brief results to leadership.
