Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a Principal Electrical Power Subsystem (EPS) Architect to lead and mature power systems for LEO satellites. You will own architecture trades, budgets, and interface control, collaborating across systems, thermal, avionics and software teams to ensure performance and reliability.

The role requires a TS security clearance, 10+ years in spacecraft power subsystems, and proven leadership in EPS design with cutting-edge energy storage and generation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in spacecraft electrical power subsystem design, development, or testing.
• Experience leading EPS design efforts including requirements ownership and architecture trades.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical contributor and SME for LEO satellite EPS design and integration.
• Lead EPS architecture trades, requirements definition, and system-level performance analysis.
• Develop power budgets, models, and simulations across orbital conditions.
• Drive design and integration of solar arrays, batteries, and novel power technologies.
• Collaborate with systems, thermal, structures, avionics, and software teams for compatibility.
• Mentor junior engineers and brief results to program managers and government customers.
