Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Test Engineer - Team Lead for the Environmental Test (ET) organization. This onsite role on the second shift (begins at 4:00 PM) leads a small team, designs and executes environmental tests, and ensures alignment with IP customer requirements.

You will mentor engineers, develop test plans, oversee vibration/structural testing, model fixtures in CREO and ANSYS, and analyze data to validate qualification and release decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in environmental testing.
• Experience with environmental test vibration shaker systems and data acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Provide testing guidance to internal customers and verify testing meets requirements.
• Write test plans and procedures, and manage schedules and budgets.
• Oversee environmental testing for model validation and product qualification.
• Apply engineering best practices to ensure tests are on schedule and within budget.
• Analyze test data real-time and post-test to confirm requirements are met.
• Communicate testing status to ET leadership and customers.
• Design, model, and analyze fixtures using CREO Parametric and ANSYS.
