City of Plantation, Florida seeks a non-exempt Technical Director for Chemistry & Microbiology in the municipal lab. You will supervise analysts, coordinate testing of water, wastewater, and air quality, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

The role requires a BS in chemistry/biology/environmental science, 5 years lab experience with 2 in certified analyses, and a Florida driver's license. Leadership and strict QA/QC are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in chemistry, biology, or environmental science.
• Minimum five years in laboratory work with at least two years in certified analyses.
• Experience in environmental quality control preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be considered.
• Valid Florida driver's license.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and mentor laboratory analysts.
• Lead audits and maintain accreditation records (NELAC/NELAP).
• Prepare and review laboratory SOPs and QA procedures.
• Oversee daily analyses of water, wastewater, and air samples.
• Coordinate documentation MDL/IDOC/CDOC/PT as required.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in the lab.
