Job summary

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Environmental Laboratory Technician to support the analysis of water, wastewater, air, and related samples. The role rotates among Water, Biology, Wastewater, Nutrient, and Field Sampling labs to provide cross training and ensure accurate data collection.

Responsibilities include on-site sampling, chemical and biological testing, data entry, and maintenance of laboratory records while following safety procedures and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related sciences.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience, preferably in environmental quality control.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Analyze laboratory samples and calibrate instruments.
• Collect samples from water and wastewater facilities and other environments.
• Prepare reagents and ensure data is accurately tabulated and reported.
