The City of Plantation seeks a supervisory Technical Director for the laboratory to lead chemical, microbiological, and environmental testing. You will oversee daily analysis of water, wastewater, and air samples, ensure QA/QC, and maintain accreditation documentation.

Requires a BS in a related field plus at least five years in a laboratory, including two years in certified analyses; Florida driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in chemistry, biology, or environmental science required.
• Minimum 5 years of laboratory work experience, including at least 2 years in certified chemical and microbiological analyses.
• Knowledge of NELAC/NELAP and QNQC requirements and procedures.
• Ability to operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and provide leadership to laboratory analysts and plan work assignments.
• Serve as Technical Director for Chemistry & Microbiology analyses and oversee testing procedures.
• Ensure quality control and accreditation documentation is maintained and staff trained.
• Review SOPs and ensure compliance with certified tests.
• Assist with audits and maintain records and logs.
