Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is hiring an Environmental Manager based in Cleveland, OH to oversee the environmental operations program for select steel sites. The role ensures compliance with environmental laws, drives standardization, and manages environmental risks while promoting best practices.

The candidate will lead continuous improvement, coordinate regulatory communications, and develop site leaders to strengthen the company’s environmental performance across operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of environmental management experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, biology, chemistry, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Current knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with CAA, CWA, TSCA, and RCRA regulations.
• Proficient in MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with operations to ensure superior environmental compliance and support business objectives.
• Contribute to plans for continuous improvement in environmental performance.
• Ensure rigorous root cause analyses and CAPAs; share best practices to improve performance and reduce risks.
• Assess performance issues and risks; develop plans to address them.
• Benchmark operational performance and share best practices.
• Drive a superior environmental compliance program and develop site environmental leaders.
