Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Complex Environmental Manager to oversee environmental compliance and sustainability for a poultry processing complex. The role partners with the Corporate Environmental Compliance team to implement permits, train employees, and ensure regulatory adherence across plant, feed mill, and hatchery operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in environmental standards, wastewater management, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in environmental compliance in a food production or wastewater treatment environment
• Demonstrated leadership experience including knowledge of policy adherence and conflict resolution
• Strong knowledge of environmental permitting requirements and standards
• Must communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing; multiple languages a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee wastewater, storm water, SPCC, air emissions, hazardous materials handling, and solid waste compliance
• Develop and deliver training on permits, programs, and environmental initiatives
• Schedule environmental tasks using a computerized system and maintain records
• Coordinate with Corporate Environmental Manager and agencies on permit compliance
• Develop relationships with local, state, and federal authorities as liaison
• Provide expertise and support for environmental projects at all locations
• Promote safety initiatives and PPE usage to maintain a zero-accident culture
• Perform additional duties as assigned
