Job summary

Magnolia Oil & Gas Corporation in Houston seeks an Environmental & Air Specialist to lead development and continuous improvement of environmental compliance and performance programs across upstream operations.

You will collaborate with operations, HSER, regulators, and consultants to manage air permitting, emissions inventories, and greenhouse gas reporting, shaping strategies that enhance safety and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related engineering field.
• 10+ years of environmental compliance experience in upstream oil and gas.
• Experience managing air compliance, emissions inventories, and reporting.
• Familiarity with NSPS OOOOa/OOOOb, LDAR, greenhouse gas inventories.
• Strong knowledge of EPA, TCEQ, and Texas Railroad Commission regulations.
• Experience coordinating with consultants and regulatory staff.
• Ability to develop and implement environmental management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and environmental data systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of Magnolia's environmental compliance and performance programs.
• Serve as primary SME for environmental regulations affecting upstream operations, focusing on air compliance and emissions management.
• Develop and maintain environmental management systems, compliance processes, standards, and procedures.
• Lead compliance programs for air permitting, emissions, and regulatory reporting (NSPS, LDAR).
• Coordinate with consultants on air permitting, emissions calculations, and greenhouse gas inventory.
• Provide oversight of the air permitting program and support project planning with environmental considerations.
• Establish processes to identify, track, and complete regulatory obligations on time.
• Oversee LDAR program, monitoring strategies, data analysis, and continual improvements.
• Analyze environmental data to identify trends, risks, and improvement actions.
• Develop environmental metrics and reporting tools for leadership and external stakeholders.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Regulatory, Land, and HSER teams to integrate requirements.
• Support environmental audits, inspections, due diligence, and regulatory reviews.
• Monitor emerging environmental regulations and industry best practices.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions; guide field personnel alignment.
