Job summary

Ford Credit seeks a Principal AI Architect to shape enterprise AI strategy and deliver secure, cloud-native systems. This leader will manage AI, cloud, and security architects and translate decisions into practical roadmaps and standards.

You will design an AI-native delivery lifecycle, build agentic patterns on Google Cloud (Vertex AI, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub), and enforce Zero Trust. Collaboration across business and technology teams is essential for safe modernization and measurable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of progressive technology experience with at least 8 years in architecture roles.
• Experience designing and operating enterprise AI/ML systems in production, including retrieval and evaluation.
• Deep cloud architecture experience on Google Cloud and strong security expertise (Zero Trust, IAM, secrets).
• Ability to communicate complex trade-offs to executives and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define Ford Credit’s multi-year enterprise AI architecture strategy, target states, roadmaps, and investment priorities.
• Establish an AI-native software delivery lifecycle with specs, bounded execution, validation, and learning loops.
• Create reusable patterns for architecture manifests, contracts, and evidence bundles.
• Architect production agentic systems integrating models, retrieval, memory, orchestration, and permissions.
• Define autonomy, pause gates, human oversight, and auditable decision trails for consequential actions.
• Guide evaluation practices including automated tests, adversarial testing, and production monitoring.
• Set patterns for authoritative enterprise knowledge with provenance and durable memory.
• Design and govern scalable AI platforms on Google Cloud using Vertex AI, Gemini, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub.
• Embed Zero‑Trust principles, data protection, and software supply-chain security into AI and cloud architectures.
• Address AI risks and modernize legacy systems through modular architectures and APIs.
