Job summary

Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer in Towson, MD to advance model-based design and verification across Electronics & Electrical Systems. You will build system models, support requirements decomposition, and drive verification planning throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires a strong foundation in MBD, systems engineering, and V&V, with collaboration across development, testing, hardware, firmware, and validation teams. A hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in model-based design, systems engineering, and verification and validation.
• Ability to translate system requirements into model structures and verification logic.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across development stages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex system behavior.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholder presentations.
• Familiarity with MIL/SIL/HIL workflows and simulation-based testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead model-based design activities for electrical/electronic systems.
• Develop and maintain system and subsystem models using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, TwinBuilder, Dymola, Modelica, Ansys, LTSPice.
• Define and execute verification and validation strategies linking requirements, models, and tests.
• Utilize simulation packages and define flows to identify root causes of issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve development efficiency and risk management.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to design and verification reviews.
• Advance MBD practices, reusable libraries, and standardized workflows.
