The Job:

As a Lead Engineer, you’ll be part of our Electronics & Electrical team working as a hybrid employee. The Senior Project Engineer / Lead Engineer - Model-Based Design, Systems Verification & Validation will play a key role in advancing model-based development practices across the Electronics & Electrical Systems group. This role is focused on building and applying system models to support product development, requirements decomposition, system behavior definition, verification planning, and validation execution for electrical and electronic systems. The position is intended for an engineer with a strong foundation in Model-Based Design (MBD), systems engineering, and verification and validation (V&V), with the ability to support cross-functional teams through the full product development lifecycle. The engineer will work closely with development, testing, controls, hardware, firmware, and integration teams to improve design quality, accelerate issue resolution, and strengthen confidence in system performance before and during physical validation. This role is best suited for a senior-level engineer who can connect requirements, models, simulation results, and test outcomes into a structured development and validation framework, while helping teams adopt consistent and scalable MBD practices.

You’ll get to:
  • Lead and support model-based design activities for electrical and electronic systems, with emphasis on system behavior modeling, requirements alignment, and verification support.
  • Develop and maintain system and subsystem models using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, TwinBuilder, Dymola, Modelica, Ansys, LTSPice and related libraries/tools as appropriate.
  • Use models to support requirements decomposition, interface definition, architecture evaluation, and early design verification.
  • Define and execute verification and validation strategies that connect requirements, models, simulation outputs, and physical test results.
  • Utilize simulation packages and define simulation process flows to rapidly identify root causes of Signal Integrity, ESD, & EMI related issues that arise during product development.
  • Communicate and train the development engineers on how to apply these processes to his/her project.
  • Support development teams by using models and simulations to evaluate concepts, identify design gaps, and reduce technical risk early in the product lifecycle.
  • Support testing teams by helping define test cases, expected behaviors, acceptance criteria, and model-to-test correlation methods.
  • Support integration teams by identifying subsystem interactions, interface issues, and system-level behavior risks before and during integration.
  • Contribute to MIL, SIL, and HIL workflows where applicable to improve verification coverage and development efficiency.
  • Analyze discrepancies between expected and observed system behavior and drive structured root cause investigation using model and test data.
  • Help establish and improve MBD, verification, and validation best practices, workflows, templates, and reusable libraries across the organization.
  • Collaborate with systems, controls, firmware, hardware, validation, and quality teams to ensure strong technical alignment throughout development.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and contribute to design reviews, verification reviews, and cross-functional engineering decisions.
The Person:

You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You’re not intimidated by innovation. Wouldn’t it be great if you could do your job and do a world of good? In fact, you embrace it.

You also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in model-based design, systems engineering, verification and validation, controls development, or related product development environments.
  • Strong experience with MATLAB / Simulink / Stateflow/Ansys.
  • Strong understanding of Model-Based Design principles, system modeling methodologies, and simulation-driven development.
  • Experience supporting systems verification and validation, including requirement traceability, test planning, and model-to-test correlation.
