Job summary

HDR is seeking a Liquid Fuels Infrastructure Technical Lead in Houston, TX to lead the design and delivery of complex fuel systems for federal and commercial projects, while upholding HDR’s employee‑owned culture.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage key programs, ensure rigorous quality control, and develop technical expertise across hydrant, bulk storage, and pipeline systems from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; PE license preferred.
• 10+ years of mechanical system design experience in commercial/institutional settings.
• Strong leadership, team coordination and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and grow HDR's federal/commercial liquid fuels portfolio.
• Plan and manage projects with staff and sub-consultants to meet delivery goals.
• Design and analyze fuel systems for military and commercial clients.
• Support marketing and client development with cross‑functional teams.
• Build capabilities through recruitment and staff training.
• Ensure quality control reviews per HDR policy.
• Coordinate work across engineers and schedules throughout projects.
• Track financials and adjust efforts to stay within budgets.
