Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc is seeking an experienced senior cost estimator to lead all cost estimation activities for the Energy Projects Development Team. You will act as the SME for estimating within the IWE Projects Delivery Team, developing standardised processes and best practices.

You will collaborate with business development, technical direction and stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates, risk assessments and appropriate contingencies, while balancing pricing and delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior or lead cost estimating role within energy, infrastructure, engineering or project delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of cost-estimating methodologies and the ability to select the right approach for different project stages and levels of information.
• Experience producing, reviewing and presenting detailed cost estimates with assumptions, risk allowances and contingency recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all cost estimation activities for the Energy Projects Development Team.
• Act as the subject matter expert for cost estimating across the wider IWE Projects Delivery Team.
• Develop, formalise and standardise cost-estimating processes, tools and best practices.
• Select the most appropriate estimating strategy based on project requirements and information.
• Plan, prepare and review cost estimates, providing oversight where appropriate.
• Present clear, professional cost estimates with assumptions, risks and contingencies.
• Balance competitive pricing with robust, realistic estimates to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Technical Direction and other stakeholders to understand customer requirements.
