Job summary

Sea Box, Inc. Energy Division seeks an Estimator to prepare accurate and timely project estimates, evaluating materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor costs, and other direct costs.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and division teammates to deliver clear, supportable estimates that guide pricing decisions. The ideal candidate will review customer specs, drawings, and scopes of work with proficiency in Excel and Word, and possess knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or coursework in Business, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of estimating or related experience in container industry, construction trades, manufacturing, energy, or similar technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify cost-reduction, efficiency, and profitability opportunities while maintaining project requirements and quality standards.
• Review RFQs, specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and related documentation for Energy Division opportunities and projects.
• Analyze blueprints and other technical documentation to develop estimates for time, labor, materials, equipment, subcontracted services, and other direct costs.
• Consult with customers, vendors, engineers, Quality, Operations, Sales, Purchasing, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve estimating issues.
• Prepare estimates and supporting documentation for use in pricing decisions and vendor/subcontractor selection.
• Evaluate changes in scope, design, materials, or project requirements and update cost estimates as needed.
• Maintain organized, traceable estimating documentation and communicate assumptions, exclusions, risks, and cost drivers to stakeholders.
