Job summary

Blue Origin’s Emerging Systems team is building the first in-house silicon for a high‑throughput modem and DBF chip, targeting 2027 tapeout. You will own pre‑silicon emulation and FPGA prototyping, defining platform flows, selecting tools, and ensuring lab integration with RF front ends and hardware.

Senior engineers and tech leads shape the strategy and tooling. You’ll drive end-to-end build flows, qualification tests, and nightly image services, enabling CAD/verification teams to operate

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD plus extensive FPGA/RTL experience and emulation flow knowledge.
• Experience deploying FPGA prototyping or emulation flows and build automation.
• Ability to bring up large digital designs on FPGA or emulation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and build pre-silicon emulation and prototyping capability from the ground up.
• Develop platform strategy, flows, and infrastructure with tradeoff studies.
• Evaluate and recommend platform choices including emulation and prototyping systems.
• Own end-to-end build flow: partitioning, synthesis, constraints, and timing.
• Adapt designs for platform including clock/reset restructuring and memory models.
• Define DSP/beamforming prototyping fidelity criteria with architecture teams.
• Build hardware-in-the-loop platforms connected to real data converters and RF fronts.
• Establish a nightly build service with release notes and rollback.
• Develop transactors, speed bridges, and test harnesses for interfaces.
• Manage platform capacity and schedule across teams.
• Debug at platform level with waveform capture and triage failures.
• Partner with RF, antenna, and DSP teams on lab integration and validation.
• Produce and maintain user documentation and onboarding material.
