Job summary

Blue Origin in California is seeking senior engineers to define pre-silicon emulation and prototyping platforms for its Terawave program. You will own the hardware platforms end-to-end, from design through build and verification, across FPGA targets and DSP datapaths.

This role emphasizes leadership in methodology and tooling rather than consuming existing solutions. Qualified candidates bring strong RTL skills (SystemVerilog/Verilog) and hands-on FPGA prototyping experience, plus scripting for

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on FPGA/RTL design with SystemVerilog/Verilog.
• Experience with FPGA prototyping or emulation flows and automation.
• Experience bringing up large digital designs on FPGA/emulation platforms.
• Proficiency with Tcl, Python for build automation and CI.

Responsibilities

• Define and build pre-silicon emulation and prototyping capability from the ground up.
• Develop platform strategy, flows, and infrastructure; lead tradeoff studies.
• Evaluate platform choices including emulation/prototyping systems and boards.
• Own end-to-end build flow: synthesis, constraints, timing closure for SoCs.
• Establish nightly build service with versioning, release notes, and rollback.
