Job summary

Saicon is seeking an engineering professional in Auburn Hills, MI to lead engine/PT dynamometer or vehicle-based testing activities and drive emissions system development. You will manage projects to deliver results, optimize calibrations, and coordinate with technicians and engineers across teams.

The role requires 2 years of systems-level engineering experience, ABET-accredited engineering degree, and strong skills in data acquisition, analysis, and communication.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Automotive, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• 2 years of systems-level engineering experience with hardware, controls, or calibration development.
• Experience analyzing emissions test cycles and test cell environments.
• Understanding of combustion processes, engine hardware, thermal systems, OBD, and electrified propulsion.
• Ability to identify root causes and refine calibrations to improve emissions performance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and schedule day-to-day testing activities for engine/PT dynamometers or vehicle-based testing.
• Apply project management methodologies to achieve deliverables using MS Project and Excel.
• Develop emissions-system solutions for future powertrains with cost, performance, and regulatory considerations.
• Optimize engine and emissions calibration to fit new hardware.
• Investigate competitor emission systems to compare performance and regulatory strategies.
• Direct multiple technology development projects with internal teams and suppliers.
• Plan and analyze complex powertrain problems to meet performance, emissions, diagnostics, NVH, and fuel-economy goals.
• Ensure integration of emissions system components and communicate requirements to engineering teams.
