Job summary

Capgemini in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Development Test Engineer to evaluate and improve gasoline engine aftertreatment performance and meet regulatory standards. You will work on system technologies including engine hardware, exhaust sensors, control strategies, calibration, and integration into propulsion systems for future electrified vehicles.

Projects utilize dynamometers and simulations to support proof-of-concept work and drive data-based decisions.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Automotive, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years in systems engineering with hardware, controls, or calibration for ICE or hybrid powertrains.
• Experience with emissions test cycles and test cells.
• Familiar with data acquisition systems (INCA, CAS, AVL Concerto, TCKs, INTECRIO).
• Understanding of combustion, OBD and electrified propulsion concepts.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and schedule dynamometer or vehicle-based testing activities.
• Apply project management methods to plan, schedule, and report deliverables.
• Develop emissions systems solutions for future high-efficiency powertrains.
• Optimize calibration to fit new emissions hardware.
• Investigate competitor emission systems to benchmark strategies.
• Plan and direct multiple technology development projects with suppliers.
• Analyze and solve complex powertrain problems to meet objectives.
• Ensure integration of emissions components with powertrain teams.
