Job summary

RTX, Collins Aerospace division, is seeking a Principal Embedded Systems Security Engineer to lead Secure SDLC activities for avionics products at Cedar Rapids, IA. The role requires ensuring security in development, assessing risks, and guiding security architectures across programs.

Active or the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance is required. The position is onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA, with relocation assistance available and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related field.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• Experience in product cybersecurity, embedded software engineering, or secure system design.
• Embedded software engineering knowledge (Python and Java/C/C++).

Responsibilities

• Be the security SME and lead for programs; collaborate with system and software teams.
• Analyze systems to identify attack vectors and assess risks for products.
• Advise on security technologies in strategic product roadmaps and development.
• Ensure proper implementation of security measures during product development.
• Develop and deploy security tools for identifying product security flaws.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to security training.
• Participate in cybersecurity-focused industry groups.
