Lead Embedded Systems Engineer – Distributed Storage

Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior embedded systems leader to drive design and implementation for distributed storage platforms. You will lead multiple project teams, coordinate with internal and outsourced partners, and ensure architecture aligns with standards across the storage software stack.

You will mentor staff, guide design proposals, and help integrate new technologies with Firmware, Hardware, and Storage OS teams for next-generation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
• Typically, 6-10 years’ experience in embedded system design/implementation for Distributed Storage systems
• Extensive experience with C, Rust, and Python
• Advanced knowledge of SAS and NVMe protocols
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions
• Experience designing and integrating software systems running on Intel and AMD into overall architecture
• Experience with software systems testing methodology, test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Mastery in English and local language
• Ability to communicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options at senior management levels

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple project teams of software systems engineers and development partners through design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration
• Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development
• Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards
• Provide tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk
• Provide domain-specific expertise and software systems leadership to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities
• Drive innovation and integrate new technologies into software systems design projects and activities
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members
• Design, develop, and deliver next-generation storage platforms in collaboration with Firmware, Hardware, and Storage OS teams
