Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Northampton, MA is seeking a Software Engineer – Technical Lead to guide the design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for Navy imaging products. You will collaborate with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Responsibilities include UI development in Linux using QT and C/C++, kernel and driver work in embedded Linux, code reviews, and ongoing performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, CSE, or EE with 4+ years of embedded software experience; advanced degree preferred.
• 4+ years embedded C/C++ experience and embedded Linux kernel/driver development.
• Experience with video processing and interfaces such as GenICam, GigE Vision, Camera Link.
• Proficiency with development tools, debuggers, compilers, and Git.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and testing of embedded software for Navy imaging products.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and ensure integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Develop UI software in Linux using QT and C/C++.
• Maintain software documentation, perform code reviews, and optimize performance.
