Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Mason, OH to develop software for infrared camera product lines. You will participate in all lifecycle phases, implement software designs, and help ensure requirements, schedules, and cost goals are met.

Responsibilities include testing, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams; the role requires ability to obtain US security clearance and prior leadership experience in engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or similar with 6 years of related experience; graduate degree with 4 years; or 10 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years of experience using C/C++ to develop embedded software.
• 2+ years experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• 2+ years experience leading an engineering team.
• 2+ years experience writing low level software such as drivers and BSPs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and execution of large technical projects.
• Apply software engineering designs and principles throughout the lifecycle.
• Define requirements and workflows for software components meeting goals.
• Perform unit, integration, and system testing.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Support bid and proposal activities including cost and schedule estimation.
• Provide coaching and training to employees.
• Make improvements in processes, systems, or products.
• Generate technical documentation for software releases.
