Job summary

ebm-papst Inc. is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Developer in Farmington, CT. You will work on application-level embedded software, port existing firmware to local microcontrollers, and ensure reliable integration with electronics, motor control and diagnostics.

The role requires seven+ years in embedded development, strong C/C++ skills, and experience with communication protocols and modern workflows. This position is full-time and on-site in the Americas region.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, embedded systems or equivalent.
• Minimum seven years of professional embedded software experience in industrial products.

Responsibilities

• Develop, adapt and maintain embedded application software for ebm-papst electronics and e-drive platforms.
• Port firmware to new MCUs and adapt peripherals, memory, bootload, timing and validation.
• Implement hardware-near software using UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, GPIO and external memory.
• Support diagnostics, production test, and end-of-line test activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions to ensure robust software.
• Provide senior-level guidance on software implementation and migration risks.
