Job summary

SMC is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop software for embedded processors and support applications, while interpreting customer requirements and providing technical documentation.

The role involves troubleshooting schematics, configuring communication protocols, and collaborating with a team. Occasional domestic/international travel for training or customer support is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical or technical engineering or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with product development processes is preferred.
• Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret internal and external customer requirements to meet desired outputs.
• Develop software code for embedded processors and support applications.
• Read, interpret, troubleshoot schematics and analyze product documentation.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and configure product communication protocols.
• Record daily activities and input data into corporate systems.
• Provide hands-on technical support for internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with team to accomplish assigned tasks and projects.
