Job summary

Archer is an aerospace company in San Jose, CA, building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The role leads the architecture, embedded software, and verification for the Charge Control Unit (CCU) and interfaces with high-voltage systems, under DO-178C guidelines.

You will act as Certification Authority for requirements, guide safety-critical software development, and mentor engineers while ensuring FAA compliance and robust diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics.
• 5+ years of experience in design and development of safety-critical embedded software (C/C++).
• Experience with RTOS, HIL testing and debugging, and CAN/SPI/I2C protocols.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead architectural design, embedded development and verification for safety-critical software in the Charge Control Unit (CCU).
• Direct implementation of charge control systems interfacing with 800V+ components and analog/digital circuitry.
• Lead DO-178C (DAL-A/B) decomposition of requirements and serve as Certification Authority during FAA audits.
