Job summary

Archer is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to the Charge Control Unit for our all-electric VTOL program in San Jose, CA. You will develop and verify safety-critical software in C/C++, work with RTOS or custom schedulers, and collaborate with systems engineers to translate requirements into software.

You will analyze hardware schematics, design fault-detection algorithms, participate in safety certification activities for DO-178C, and help streamline software development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of embedded software experience in safety-critical systems using C/C++.
• Experience with RTOS, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and CAN/SPI/I2C communications.

Responsibilities

• Perform embedded development and verification of safety-critical software for the Charge Control Unit.
• Design and implement charge control software interfacing with high-voltage components and analog/digital circuitry.
• Decompose system requirements into high- and low-level software requirements in compliance with DO-178C.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to develop, integrate, verify, and certify complex hardware/software systems.
• Develop fault detection and diagnostic algorithms to respond to hardware events like short circuits or sensor failures.
• Analyze hardware schematics to inform embedded software development and signal integrity considerations.
• Contribute to defining streamlined software development and verification processes for DO-178C certification.
