Job summary

Archer Aviation is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in San Jose to develop and verify safety-critical software for the Charge Control Unit, interfacing with high-voltage hardware and analog/digital circuits. You will decompose requirements per DO-178C and work with a multidisciplinary team to certify complex systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE, 4+ years in embedded software with C/C++, RTOS experience, HIL testing, and familiarity with CAN, SPI, and I2C protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Electronics.
• 4+ years of experience in design and development of safety-critical embedded software.
• Experience with RTOS or custom schedulers and embedded frameworks.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and debugging.
• Knowledge of CAN, SPI, and I2C communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform embedded development and verification of safety-critical software for the Charge Control Unit.
• Design and implement charge control systems interfacing embedded software with high-voltage components and analog/digital circuitry.
• Decompose requirements into high-level and low-level software requirements per DO-178C.
• Develop and verify integrated hardware/software systems for certification.
• Create fault detection and diagnostic algorithms to respond to hardware events.
