Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an Embedded Software Architect / Lead Developer to shape the software architecture for power-electronics solutions across our transport and HVAC portfolio. You will direct embedded software design for VFDs and integrate with higher-level control systems, guiding the team through concept to production and lifecycle support.

The role requires deep technical expertise, leadership, and hands-on work with ARM MCUs/MPUs (STM32, Renesas RA).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with architecture and system design focus.
• Ability to design and maintain scalable, maintainable software architectures.
• Experience with embedded control systems under memory, performance, and real-time constraints.
• Knowledge of functional safety and cybersecurity in embedded systems.
• Proficient in C/C++ and familiarity with toolchains, debuggers, and profiling tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee software development for power electronics and power management devices, including firmware stacks and controller applications.
• Ensure reliability, performance, configurability and quality through architecture design and CI/CD strategies.
• Guide developers to create maintainable, reusable software and robust documentation.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on MCUs/MPUs and peripherals.
• Coordinate teams to ensure software releases meet cyber security and functional safety standards.
• Work with product owners to translate requirements into software solutions.
• Monitor technology trends and contribute innovations to the roadmap.
• Promote responsible use of AI across the software lifecycle.
