Job summary

The Alaska Division of Public Assistance is seeking an entry-level Eligibility Technician I to join a statewide eligibility workflow team. This exempt position handles case management, applies policies, and delivers timely determinations of benefits to Alaskans in need, across access points including the Kenai office in Homer.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications include experience applying statutes, regulations, program requirements, or similar criteria to process and evaluate documents such as applications, benefits, and claims.
• Experience with extensive person-to-person contact, explaining policies, providing instruction, and interviewing individuals.

Responsibilities

• Handle case management and workflow with policy-based decisions.
• Serve as the first point of contact for clients across all access points (Virtual Contact Center, lobby, non-lobby).
• Ensure timely determinations of benefits and provide guidance to resources.
