Job summary

Badger Meter is seeking a Lead Assembler to lead a team across multiple product families in a manufacturing setting. You will coordinate workloads, ensure safety and quality, and drive on-time delivery while collaborating with management, planning, and sales.

With 5+ years in assembly/leadership and lean experience, you will mentor new staff, read blueprints, and support continuous improvements. This role requires physical capability and flexibility for extended hours and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Degree/GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in assembly/leadership desired.
• Lean 101 training preferred.
• Experience in a Lean environment preferred.
• Experience with electronic assembly required.
• Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude along with the ability to read prints and measure parts while maintaining a customer-focused mentality required.
• Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekend shifts as needed required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operation by leading and directing a group of employees to meet production schedules.
• Read and follow specifications to assemble products and verify conformance to work orders.
• Provide a thorough technical understanding of production and assembly practices.
• Serve as liaison for general assembly and quality control questions.
• Train new employees on equipment and tools.
• Communicate effectively with Managers, Planning and Customer Service.
• Identify input to improve assembly processes focusing on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
