Job summary
Livewire, a Richmond-based electrical, lighting, audio/video, and home automation company, is seeking an experienced Virginia-licensed Journeyman Electrician to own projects end-to-end. The role focuses on quality workmanship, schedule adherence, and independent leadership of technicians on residential and commercial builds.
Ideal candidates read drawings, coordinate with trades, and maintain strong communication with clients and project teams.
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Journeyman Electrician license or higher.
- Experience performing residential and/or commercial electrical installations.
- Ability to independently run electrical projects.
- Strong NEC knowledge and safe electrical practices.
- Ability to read construction drawings and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage timelines.
- Ability to lead other technicians and communicate professionally with customers and project teams.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Professional attitude, accountability, and pride in workmanship.
- Experience in residential and commercial electrical work.
- Lead electrician/foreman experience.
- Experience with renovations and commercial tenant improvements.
- Familiarity with Lutron lighting controls.
- Experience with low-voltage wiring and automation systems.
- Willingness to learn new technologies
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform electrical installations on residential and commercial projects.
- Independently plan, organize, and execute assigned work.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Direct and coordinate other electricians and apprentices as needed.
- Complete installations efficiently while maintaining high workmanship standards.
- Identify potential issues early and communicate solutions before they impact project schedules or budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, customers, and other trades.
- Perform troubleshooting, service work, panel installations, circuit additions, renovations, and new construction wiring.
- Maintain accurate communication regarding job progress, material needs, and scheduling.
- Ensure work complies with the National Electrical Code and applicable local requirements.
- Learn and assist with lighting control systems, low-voltage wiring, and integrated automation solutions.
