Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island is seeking a Test Engineer to lead a small team through detailed electrical test campaigns for flight hardware, coordinating cross-functional test activities and ensuring safety and compliance. You will analyze test results, drive root-cause investigations, and develop procedures for reusable space flight hardware.

The role emphasizes collaboration, design fundamentals, and hands-on testing with flight hardware, sensors, and complex test systems.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years aerospace test campaign experience, with electrical test exposure
  • Ability to supervise 2–5 engineers and delegate tasks
  • Experience with dispersed rapid development teams and process development
  • Familiarity with design fundamentals and interfaces for aerospace hardware
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (Creo Pro/E) and drawing creation
  • Experience with sensors, actuators, and test facility instrumentation

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of early career engineers through an entire electrical test campaign
  • Plan, develop and execute test procedures for flight hardware
  • Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, coordinate with internal customers
  • Perform root cause, system hazard analysis and failure investigations
  • Troubleshoot issues during testing and drive corrective actions
  • Develop, manage, and maintain test support equipment
  • Identify opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings
  • Prepare status updates and communicate with customers
  • Coordinate test crews, equipment, and configurations for testing
  • Enforce safety policies during planning and operations
  • Participate in assembly and test of development and flight hardware
