Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Lead Engineer in Raleigh, NC, to solve complex problems and lead transmission projects with minimal supervision. You will guide project engineers, apply advanced technical expertise, and drive cross-functional collaboration across teams. A PE license is required, with a BS in engineering (ABET) and 8+ years of experience.

A master’s degree may substitute for the BS. Hybrid mobility is offered, with opportunities to mentor staff, review designs, and ensure

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
Professional Engineer’s License is required prior to hire.
Master’s degree in Engineering may be considered in lieu of the B.S. degree.

Responsibilities

Guide, mentor, and review deliverables from project engineers throughout transmission project lifecycles.
Provide engineering expertise to analyze and resolve complex problems with long-term system-wide impacts.
Plan, organize, estimate, schedule and monitor work with limited standardization; navigate non-standard situations.
Manage and coordinate complex projects with full technical responsibility and knowledge sharing.
Demonstrate broad knowledge of engineering principles; suggest improvements to processes and standards.
Build positive working relationships and communicate effectively; maintain records and files.
