Job summary

Yates Construction is seeking an Electrical Superintendent in Red Oak, TX to monitor field operations for a defined area of discipline or an entire project. You will work with project management and engineers, overseeing safety, schedule, quality of work and budget, while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering).
• Other relevant education may substitute for bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of six (6) years' industry experience.
• Experience managing a scope of work valued over $1MM.
• Strong understanding of planning and scheduling.
• Strong understanding of business and/or financial principles to project and monitor expenses.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors and directing the work of all trades.
• Coordinating and scheduling the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, delivering instructions and project assignments.
• Conducting preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors before each phase of work.
• Planning manpower and personnel needs onsite.
• Leading toolbox talks/briefings.
• Providing safety, quality, risk, and compliance oversight for the project and team members.
• Overseeing site equipment and logistics (cranes, trailers, trucks, etc.).
• Managing weekly work activities for trade crews.
• Using project documents, specs, and drawings to guide work.
• Developing site logistics plans and scopes of work for trades.
• Performing constructability reviews and recovery planning as needed.
• Managing project close-out, punch lists, and coordination meetings.
• Participating in owner meetings and CPM scheduling discussions.
• Ensuring OSHA compliance and safety program administration.
