Job summary

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group seeks an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge design and construction for major industrial projects. Lead design checks, plan constructability, and coordinate bid packages with internal teams and contractors.

Role requires 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction management, a bachelor’s in engineering, and strong communication skills. Travel up to 50% across the US with onsite work at Jacobs workplaces.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting electrical design drawings for construction purposes.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving design/constructability concerns and disputes.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities based on design and modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope for sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with schedules.
• Develop and review bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate full WBS across stakeholders.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability impacts.
