Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a Principal Design Engineer - Test to join the Test Solutions Engineering Center. This role focuses on developing production test equipment for Raytheon products, leading multidisciplinary teams and driving hardware design and analysis in an on-site factory environment.

The team collaborates across engineering, operations, and programs to ensure factory readiness, robust hardware interfaces, and reliable test solutions for missile systems like SM‑6 and SM3

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of electrical design experience.
Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Prioritize and handle several engineering tasks concurrently.
Lead small teams of Electrical Hardware design engineers for complex cabling and test systems.
Develop engineering and production test systems, interface adapters, cabling, and schematics.
