Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking a Team Lead – Electrical Engineer for the Utility Substations group in the Denver area. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver protection and control package designs, power system studies, and equipment reviews.

This role combines technical leadership with people development and project delivery oversight. Responsibilities include coordinating design activities, reviewing submittals, supporting business development, and maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
8+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
FE licensure required; PE preferred.
Knowledge of voltage distribution above 240kV, switchgear, motor control centers, and instrumentation and controls.
Proficiency with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Lead detailed design of protection and control packages.
Coordinate and analyze power system studies (short circuit, load flow, relay coordination).
Review equipment data sheets and testing reports.
Mentor and develop team; support budget and proposals.
Promote value engineering and efficiencies in design.
