Job summary

Leap29 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support utility-scale renewable energy projects in Up-State New York, focusing on solar and battery energy storage. The role blends hands-on electrical design with interconnection management and regulatory compliance.

You will own interconnection activities, coordinate with utilities, consultants, and project teams, and navigate technical and commercial aspects across the lifecycle from feasibility through delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in renewable energy or related sector.
• Experience with utility-scale solar and energy storage.
• Experience leading interconnection activities and studies.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and optimise electrical systems for utility-scale renewables.
• Lead interconnection applications and coordinate with utilities and grid stakeholders.
• Review engineering deliverables from consultants and ensure design alignment with scope and schedule.
• Support regulatory compliance, permitting, and technical due diligence.
• Collaborate with project managers, EPCs, and external teams to deliver projects on time.
