Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across institutional, commercial, and industrial projects.

You will design power, lighting, fire alarm, and telecom systems, produce calculations and construction drawings, and coordinate with internal and external teams.

The ideal candidate holds a PE in NC, has 10+ years of building/infrastructure experience, and is proficient in AutoCAD or Revit; ESOP and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Licensed PE in NC or eligible for reciprocity.
• 10+ years of electrical design experience for buildings and infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecom systems.
• Familiar with NEC, NESC, IEEE standards.
• Proficient in CAD or Revit and producing drawing sets.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineer on multi-discipline project teams.
• Design electrical systems (power, lighting, fire alarm, telecom) for facilities.
• Create technical reports, design computations, and system evaluations.
• Produce accurate construction drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate closely with internal teams, clients, and other disciplines.
